One year

Jonathan and I celebrated our one year anniversary this Sunday, May 15. This has been an awesome year full of joy, blessing, change and growth. I am the happiest girl, married to the most incredibly loving, generous, patient and kind man. I remember way back when, knowing I was going to marry Jonathan and the joy and excitement of our future together. This has been an incredible year and I am thankful for every step of our journey together.

For celebration, Jonathan planned a trip to Tampa and it was appropriately relaxing. We enjoyed delicious dinner at Bern's Steakhouse, had a couples massage which was reasonably priced, drove around the quaint streets, talked, reminisced and laughed. I would post pictures but first thing Monday, Jonathan flew out to New Orleans for work and took the camera so I will post them later.

Ecclesiastes 9:9 "Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun-- all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun."

Mother's Day continued

So I want to continue my tribute to Mother's Day... In November 2010, my family grew and I gained a beautiful step-mom. What a blessing it is to have Kathy in our lives, my dad's life and to be able to grow with another supportive parent. Although Jonathan and I moved to Florida prior to dad and Kathy settling down in Cullman, our visits are with them are precious and treasured. They are planning to visit soon and we are excited to have them here. I am thankful for the love and compassion Kathy has for us and thank the Lord each day for all of our family.

In May 2010, I also gained a beautiful mother-in-law and how incredible it is to have married into the Nevins Family. Susan is so loving and thoughtful and it was no surprise, as Jonathan is very much like his mom and dad. I have felt right at home since the day I first, "officially", met them and I am thankful that I have another incredible family to share life with.

I know our cup is running over with the blessing of family...we have three moms in our lives and all I can say is, the grandchildren will be WELL taken care of. :)

Thank you to my mom, Kathy & Susan for all that you do!! We love you.

Thank you Mom

Mother's Day is a special day for moms and although it's important to treat our moms special every day, this day we need to really pamper them and thank them for all they do. I am so blessed that my mom is strong, loving, open, brave, funny, beautiful, christian, passionate and wise. She is retiring this month and she has not only been an incredible teacher in the classroom (for 25 ish years) but at home to her four children. I couldn't be more proud or thankful that God has provided me with an incredible mother who knew how to handle four kids when, at times, she didn't think she could or knew how. Her grace and motherly-instinct delights those around her and I know the Lord smiles down as he watches her each day.
"Keep your love for one another at full strength, because love covers a multitude of sins." 1 Peter4:8

Engagement parties & homecomings

The tornadoes that devastated the southeast was very scary. With all of our family in Alabama, we were worried about everyone. Thank God Zach and his friends were safe during the storm (as Tuscaloosa was hard hit) but my heart goes out to the many that lost their life, who are injured, missing and those that lost everything. It was a blessing to be home this weekend to hug everyone and know they are safe. It's hard to see the photos of Tuscaloosa, where I lived for 4 years, unrecognizable from the damage. With the sadness from the storms, we were able to be thankful for Lacy and Eric's homecoming and engagement. We had a get together on Friday night to celebrate and it was a lot of fun.

Saturday, J and I had lunch with Lace, Eric and lots of friends. It was so much fun and i'm glad everyone was able to be there. Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of that but hopefully we will do it again when we're home in May. Saturday evening was Lauren's engagement party which was fabulous...so good to see best friends and celebrate upcoming weddings. I didn't take any pictures there...waiting to get some from Lauren.
